Assistant Professor at CHSU Co-Authors Research Article Published in Elsevier’s Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Behavior

CHSU is pleased to announce Sreenivasulu N. Pattipati, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, published an article in Elsevier’s Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Behavior titled, “Characterization of the Adrenocorticotrophic Hormone – Induced Mouse Model of Resistance to Antidepressant Drug Treatment”.

For this research project, Dr. Pattipati and his team developed a new animal model for treatment resistant depression, which can help in identifying novel medications for the treatment of the condition and can significantly help to advance the research in this area.

Dr. Pattipati received his Ph.D. in Neuropsychopharmacology from Panjab University in Chandigarh, India. He serves within CHSU’s Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences department and currently teaches Pharmacology III at CHSU. He chose to teach pharmacy because he aims to develop future pharmacists by providing them with quality education and training. His main focus areas in research are Treatment Resistant Depression and Neuropathic Pain as they are both very debilitating diseases with significant unmet medical need.

Before teaching at CHSU, Dr. Pattipati taught in India at Swamy Ramananda Tirtha Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Nalanda College of Pharmacy. He is also an editorial board member for the following journals: EC Pharmacology and Toxicology Journal Reviewer; Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics; Brain Research; Psychopharmacology; Indian Journal of Pharmacology; Journal of Medicinal Food; Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Behavior; and Pharmacological Reports.
